It was a warm and rainy July morning, but we weren’t going to let that dampen our special day! The ladies got ready at the Westin River North, while the gentlemen were at the our home in Ravenswood. The guys then took a shuttle to the hotel where we had our first look. We thought we were going to have to do our first look in the hotel room, but luckily the rain cleared up enough for us to have it outside on the River Walk where we also exchanged homemade gifts.
After our first look, we hopped on the shuttle and headed to Millennium Park where we got our pictures taken with our wedding party and parents. Then we headed to Greenhouse Loft. We had a few minutes to relax and admire how everything was coming together after a year of planning. Katie from Greenhouse Loft, Ivy from Fig Catering, and Lynne from Pollen are all AMAZING, so we never had any doubts!
From the bridal suite, we could start to hear our friends and family trickling into the room for the ceremony – it was finally time! Walking down the aisle with my parents and seeing my soon to be husband waiting for me was one of the best moments of my life. We had each prepared our vows and shared them in front of our family and friends as our good friend, Aaren, officiated the ceremony. It was short, sweet, and completely us.
After the ceremony, we got to enjoy drinks and snacks with our guests. And then onto dinner and cake. After all that food, it was time to work it off with a night of dancing with DJ Adam from Cage and Aquarium.
Jamie and Eric are amazing people – and bonus - they take awesome photos too! Looking back at our pictures now, we are so happy with our decision to have them shoot our big day. It was the best day of our lives, and we wouldn’t change a thing about it.
