Milwaukee Live Music Wedding | Alyssa and Brian

Thank you to Alyssa for sharing her story of her wedding day! xox

…….

Our wedding was in Milwaukee on a chilly drizzly early October afternoon. The trees were mid color change and the skies overcast. The abundance of old cream city brick buildings made for the perfect backdrop for our wedding.

The morning with the girls started off as hair, make up, laughter, and plenty of mimosas. The guys had a different, more work orientated morning as they set up the ceremony and parts of the reception hall. I loved having both Jamie and Eric to capture both of our morning chaos. I also loved being able to watch the ceremony being set up and the guests arriving from the window of my suite.

We opted for a first look before the ceremony and honestly, it was the best decision we made. The look on his face when he turned around made my heart melt and I realized that I didn’t care what happened the rest of the day. I just wanted to marry him. The pictures are everything. I will forever cherish that sweet moment with my very-soon-to-be husband. Jamie and Eric made sure to be present without being intrusive and it was perfect.

The ceremony was magical. We got married at Zilber Park in the old Pabst Brewery area of downtown Milwaukee. Our processional music was a collection of Disney songs on piano played by an old friend. It had just started to drizzle and anxiety was developing as I waited in the lobby of the hotel for my turn down the aisle. When the doors opened, every ounce of stress I had was gone. I saw him standing at the top of the hill, and that was all I needed.

The rest of the day was a breeze. The wedding party walked around the Pabst Brewery area for some super amazing looking photos. We even found time to stop into the Pabst Milwaukee Taproom and have a beer…or 2. The wedding party hopped on the bus to the reception while Jamie, Brian, and I stopped for some photos at the beautiful Pere Marquette Park and the Milwaukee RiverWalk.

The reception was at a bar in the historic 3rd ward called Red, White, and Blue (RWB). Dinner was catered by Red Rock Saloon and could not have been more delicious. The doughnut wall hand made by my mother-in-law was definitely a focal point. We danced the night away with various musical acts including the Rocket 88’s and Geoff Landon. We were even surprised by a special performance by the groom and his friends! We closed out the night with dueling pianos and singing Piano Man in a huddle. I don’t think I’ve ever had so much fun in my life.

We know that we made the right decision by hiring Jamie and Eric. Their style and personalities perfectly matched what we needed that day. The photos turned out more beautiful than I could have imagined and I cannot thank them enough for being there to capture it all for us. - Alyssa and Brian. Married October 2018.
