We met with Emma and Bryan in the fall and knew right away they were going to be a fun and adventurous couple, they had such a soft and cozy energy between each other. The initial wedding venue was to be in Chicago and the wedding held that spring. About a month went by when they contacted us that they had decided to change their wedding plans and go to California for a very small intimate wedding with only very close family and friends. We truly fell in love with their plans .They found a small venue in St. Helena that had a date open in February, invited 12 very special people, and it was set - and we would join them to document the 3 days of celebration!
We love getting to do projects like this, as it allows us to really be part of the event in a very special way. The day before the ceremony we went on an outdoor adventure in the mountains lined with vineyards and joined them for a wine tasting. The next day, we walked over from our hotel to theirs, and had one of the most relaxing mornings, photographing them getting ready, then a first look, and explored a field of flowering mustard greens amongst the rows of grapes. The ceremony was picture perfect, as you can see below. The reception had a trio of strings serenading the dinner, and there was even some spontaneous dancing. The next day we joined the whole family for a tour of several vineyards and tried all kinds of delicious local wines. We hope you enjoy the photos! Below is also Emma and Bryan's take on the day!
---------------
Our wedding took place on a warm, clear day in beautiful Napa Valley. The girls spent their morning drinking champagne while getting their hair and makeup done, while the guys lounged sipping on local brews and watching the Olympics. We both filled with nervous anticipation as we approached our first look, which immediately melted away upon finally reuniting.
Our ceremony began with our wonderful flower girls leading the way down the aisle as a string trio played in the background. We walked out to a small group of family eagerly awaiting our nuptials with a vineyard and rolling hills in the background. The ceremony flew by, and before we knew it we were married! The cocktail hour and dinner were spent celebrating with our guests, which was a truly awesome experience. We couldn’t ask for a more perfect day!
